Alessandro Squarzi

Thursday, January 1, 2015

Alessandro Squarzi is a bit of an icon in the street style scene, I first discovered him in one of Scott Schuman's street style books. Alessandro is the founder and director of Alessandro Squarzi Showroom, a leading fashion consultancy out of Italy. Tommy Ton considers him to be “THE master of Italian sprezz”; Alessandro is elegantly casual. Read some of his thoughts on style here.

Screen Style: Game of Thrones

Wednesday, December 31, 2014

The wardrobe is probably my favorite element of Game of Thrones. I love the lavishness of a king's attire, the heavily layered outfits of characters from The North, and of course, the armor. Michele Clapton describes her inspiration when designing the garments and how each costume reflects its' character and interaction with the environment.

Thursday, December 25, 2014

The 18th century is one of my favorite eras of fashion. I love the high collars, lavish materials, and the layering. Very elegant time. Here are some looks from the movie Interview With The Vampire set in 1791.

I absolutely love outerwear, so this collection is pure eye candy for me. Super heavy coats, cargo pants, huge mittens. Very functional clothing, I love it all.

Most Stylish Homeless Man

Wednesday, December 17, 2014

Slavick is a 55 year old homeless man from Ukraine, but no ordinary one. He changes his hairdo regularly, rarely wears the same outfits and sometimes changes his clothing multiple times a day. Slavick's style is actually quite impressive. I have no idea how this is possible as a homeless man, apparently he has a secret stash. Photographer Yurkov Dyachyshyn has built a relationship with Slavick and archived his outfits. See the rest of the archive on Yurkov's website.

North Face Purple Label Lookbooks

Monday, December 15, 2014

The lookbooks for North Face's Purple Label line are always styled superbly. Only found in Japan, it features clothing with the function of The North Face clothing but with the tailored cuts of a designer brand. Here are my favorite looks spanning from the FW13, SS14, and FW14 lookbooks.

Fendi Men's Fall/Winter 2014-2015

Wednesday, December 10, 2014

Fendi's F/W collection last year was spot on; the silouettes so clean and sleek. I love all the fur they used, especially those fur mittens, and the trousers fit perfectly. Excited to see this year's fall collection.
